The “Wixárikas” or better known as “Huicholes”, mainly inhabit the states of Jalisco, Nayarit, and some areas of Durango and Zacatecas. This art originates from the importance of manifesting the traditions, activities of daily life, mythological representations, as well as rituals that determine their cultural identity. The figures that are reflected are previously visualized by the Huichol shamans, they are materialized with beads on string or yarn and symbolize stories and legends about the divine of their culture.
